The Climate Action Plan, approved by City Council in 2020, is now undergoing its first update —reflecting progress to date while reaffirming key priorities.
Why now?
Since the plan was originally approved, advancements in clean energy, shifts in policies, and increasing climate impacts have reshaped the climate landscape. Updating the Climate Action Plan will allow for an alignment of new information, technologies, and programmatic and financing opportunities. Ultimately, this revision marks a critical step in keeping the city on track toward its long-term sustainability goals.
Timeline
This update process will take place over the course of 2026 with focus on refining targets, reaffirming strategies and actions, identifying community priorities, and incorporating feedback to ensure the plan remains effective, equitable, and aligned with our partners.
