Climate Action Plan: Energy Target

By 2040, 100% of Bainbridge Island's sources of electricity are carbon-free.

Washington State

The State's Clean Energy Transformation Act (CETA) requires all utilities to eliminate coal from their fuel mix by the end of 2025, carbon-neutral by 2030, and free of fossil fuels by 2045.

Electric Utility

Bainbridge Island is served by one utility for electricity, Puget Sound Energy (PSE).

City of Bainbridge Island Powered by 100% Renewable Energy

In 2022, City Council passed Resolution 2022-15 authorizing the City to participate in PSE's Green Power Program to purchase 100% renewable energy for all of the City's electricity.
