NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL

PUBLIC HEARING

ORDINANCE NO. 2022-25
IMPOSING A MORATORIUM ON THE ACCEPTANCE AND PROCESSING OF CERTAIN APPLICATIONS FOR INNS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER ZONING DISTRICT

TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 2023

              YOU ARE NOTIFIED that the Bainbridge Island City Council will conduct a public hearing on January 24, 2023, to receive public comment in person or in writing on Ordinance No. 2022-25 adopted pursuant to RCW 35A.63.220 and RCW 36.70A.390; imposing a moratorium on the acceptance and processing of certain applications for inns in the Neighborhood Center zoning district; setting forth findings of fact in support of this moratorium; declaring an emergency and establishing an immediate effective date; imposing the moratorium; stating the effect on vested rights; providing for exclusions; setting the duration; recognizing that a public hearing will be held within 60 days; providing for a work plan; providing for the moratorium to control if there are conflicts with City code; authorizing interpretative authority; and providing for severability.

              The public hearing will be held as part of the City Council meeting which begins at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers, 280 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island and on the Zoom webinar platform.   A link to the webinar and agenda will be provided to the public on January 20, 2023.

            If you are unable to participate in person or by video conference, comments may be submitted to the City Clerk by first class mail or by email at cityclerk@bainbridgewa.gov. Written comments may be submitted until the closure of the public hearing on January 24, 2023, unless otherwise extended by the City Council.
